Thunderstorms likely this afternoon/evening - Severe weather not expected

A line of storms should develop across Michigan this afternoon right around peak heating time.  Some moderate instability will exist as a cold front pushes through, though wind profiles look to be too weak to support severe weather.  An isolated strong gust isn't out of the question.

Short range models are pretty consistent regarding timing and placement of these storms across central and northern Michigan right around 5PM.  Count on encountering some potentially heavy downpours and gusty winds if you're commuting home through these regions this evening.
